Over the last year, a team of around 3,000 Pioneer Generation Ambassadors (PGAs) from the Pioneer Generation Office (PGO) visited over 120,000 pioneers to share with them the healthcare benefits they receive from the government.
These PGAs who come from all walks of life, go through training to familiarise themselves with the content of Pioneer Generation Package and Medishield Life. They also learn how to communicate the details in a clear and simple way to the pioneers.
For some of the pioneers who live alone, the PGAs also become part of their informal social support network. They go beyond their call of duty to provide assistance to the pioneers such as accompanying them to clinics when they are ill. They also return to check on them to ensure that their daily needs are met.
