A. Home Caregiving Grant (HCG)
1. The new Home Caregiving Grant (HCG) will replace the existing Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Grant, with an enhanced quantum of $200 per month. The grant will be a monthly cash payout to eligible care recipients. Grant beneficiaries will now have more flexibility to use the payout to defray caregiving expenses such as the costs of hiring an FDW, the costs of home and community-based services, and transportation to medical appointments.
2. Individuals can start submitting their applications for this new grant from 1 October 2019 through Agency of Integrated Care (AIC). The care recipient must be living in Singapore and is not residing in any residential long-term care institutions like Nursing Homes, Chronic Sick Hospital, Psychiatric Sheltered Home and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Home. All current FDW Grant beneficiaries will be automatically transferred to the HCG, and need not apply for the HCG.

B. Revisions for Functional Assessment Report (FAR)
Patients who wish to make an application for moderate/ mild disability schemes such as HCG, will need to undergo a disability assessment and obtain a Functional Assessment Report (FAR). All General Practitioners like yourself are recognised as FAR assessors and may issue an FAR to patients who request for assessments.
As such, we would also like to provide an update on revisions made to the Functional Assessment Report (FAR). AIC has made the revisions in consultation with MOH and after user testing by assessors to ensure that the form remains relevant and usable.
