The National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) greatly facilitates the seamless flow of information and helps to integrate medical care across different healthcare settings in Singapore as we work towards the vision of “One Patient, One Health Record”.
For the Primary Care Sector, NEHR allows GPs to deliver more holistic, quality and continuing care for patients by making polyclinic data available. As of 12 June 2015, 650 General Practitioner (GP) clinics across Singapore have been provisioned to use the NEHR.This is very encouraging news as more patients will greatly benefit from this patient-centric and integrated healthcare IT system.
At present, MOHH is progressively bringing more data from the Primary Care space onto the NEHR so as to have a more complete patient record in the database. GPs can also greatly benefit from the NEHR as it fosters greater collaboration between healthcare colleagues across care settings.
