In line with the HealthySG Taskforce's recommendation to improve the affordability and accessibility of services that improve and promote health, and the Government's plans to provide more support in marriage and parenthood, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will extend subsidies for all nationally recommended vaccinations and childhood development screening (CDS) to all CHAS GP clinics, from end 2020.
2. The following subsidies will be made available for Singaporeans at all CHAS GP clinics:
3. MOH is working with vaccine manufacturers to allow CHAS GP clinics to access vaccines under NCIS and NAIS at favourable prices for subsidised patients. To ensure that the cost savings are passed on to patients and encourage higher vaccination take-up rates, MOH will be introducing fee caps for subsidised vaccinations under NCIS and NAIS administered at CHAS GP clinics.
4. Similar fee caps on CDS will also be introduced. MOH is in the midst of engaging some of the GP partners to better understand their various business models and cost structures so as to determine fair and reasonable fee caps. We hope that the extension of subsidies will reduce the current price gradient between polyclinics and CHAS GP clinics to better support the anchoring of care with a regular family doctor from young.
5. More details about the subsidies, including claim guidelines, reimbursement process, bill presentment, and audit requirements, will be shared in the coming months.
