Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE)

Interim Disability Assistance Programme For the Elderly (IDAPE)

The Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE) is an assistance scheme that was set up in 2002 for a small group of seniors who were not eligible for the ElderShield Scheme at that time because they were too old or had pre-existing disabilities.

Under this scheme, IDAPE provides monthly cash payouts of $150 or $250 (depending on their financial circumstances) to successful applicants for up to 72 months. There is no restriction on how the payments should be used, as long as they are used for the care of the disabled IDAPE claimant.

Patient Eligibility Criteria for IDAPE are as follow:

1. Household monthly income per person of $2,600 and below OR Annual Value (AV)^ of residence of $13,000 and below for households with no income; and

2. Born before 30 September 1932 OR born between 1 October 1932 and 30 September 1962 (both dates inclusive) but with pre-existing disabilities as at 30 September 2002; and

^AV is the estimated annual rent of your residence (as reflected on your NRIC) if it is rented out.

3. Severely disabled (i.e. unable to perform at least three out of six ADLs)
